If you are like me and heading back to work this week after the Christmas break, you too may have a sunburnt nose, uneven skin tone and blemishes from over indulging on Christmas treats! Not to worry, I have created this quick and easy back to work makeup look, to cover imperfections and make the transition to work and routine life slightly smoother.
I don’t like to wear heavy makeup to work but as I am the first point of contact to customers I like to look professional and it is a sense of pride within myself. My mornings are generally pretty rushed so spending as minimal time getting ready is my go to.
The first and most important step is to prep my skin with skincare, I use a toner, serum, moisturiser and eye cream and then a primer overtop. Using good skincare is going to help treat my problem skin at the moment and bring it back to its normal state, it is also going to prep my skin for the makeup to go over top so it sits nicer and lasts longer.
I like my base to look flawless so I start by applying foundation all over my skin to even out my skin tone, I then go in with a concealer to cover any redness and blemishes. I set my face with a pressed powder so that it stays put all day and I do not have to touch up throughout my work day.
The eye look that I have gone for is a soft bronzed look, I created this look using the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette using 4 simple shades (shade names below). Shade 1 is my base colour – I put this all over my eyelid from the lash line to the brow bone, Shade 2 is my transition colour – I blend this colour into my crease to create dimension, Shade 3 is the main shade that I apply all over lid to the crease and on my lower lash line to half way, Shade 4 is the darkest shade that I use in the outer V (corners of my eye) you can make it as dark or as natural as you desire. I have paired this look with a natural lip colour slightly darker than my lip natural lip shade.
This is one of my go to looks for work as it is super easy to do but very effective, I often switch up the colours but use the same steps. If I am wanting to take this look from day to night I would add a dark brown or black eyeliner in my waterline and line the upper lash line, I would then change my lipstick to a bright bold colour.
