New Zealand Cup & Show Week is easily one of my favourite weeks and events of the year! Each year it seems to come round faster and faster. I love that it is one of the few days where you can go all out, get dressed up and not feel over dressed or out of place.
When it comes to makeup for Cup Day don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, go all out, try something different, whether that be a bold lip or a new eyeshadow colour or it could even be wearing a light makeup look when you normally wouldn’t wear makeup. When I think of the makeup looks I will be creating, I think of fresh, flawless and bright bold colours. This is a day event so I recommend to stay away from heavy makeup such as, smokey eyes and nude lips.
Above is a makeup look that I have created for Cup Day, as you can see it is fresh and flawless. I created a warm toned bronzed smokey eye and added gold glitter to the crease to make my eyes pop! I paired this look with a bold lip to create a bright and glamorous day time look.
Products Used:
Prep the skin most importantly, I used Toner, Serum, Eye Cream and Moisturiser.
Primer: Estee Lauder Smoother – A beautiful light weight Primer that smooths over any imperfections, it creates a perfect base so your foundation glides over top.
Foundation: Makeup Forever Ultra HD – This foundation is a medium to full coverage but very buildable. I love that it creates a flawless look and gives a healthy glow to the skin, it doesn’t look heavy or cakey, perfect for a day event!
Bronzer: Benefit Hoola – This bronzer is a beautiful chocolate brown shade, applied just under the cheek bone this adds shape and dimension to your face and creates a stunning bronzed look.
Blush: Estee Lauder Peach Passion – Applied directly to the apples of the cheeks. This would have to be one of my favourite blush shades! It is very pigmented so you only need a little amount, it is the perfect shade to match with peach/orange toned lipsticks.
Highlight: Mac Soft & Gentle – This creates a gorgeous glow to the skin, apply just above the apples of the cheeks, cupids bow, bridge of nose, inner corner of eyes and brow bone. This will have you glowing all day long!
Brows: Benefit Ka-Brow! – I love this product to create shape and define the brows for a more polished look. Gimme Brow will ensure your brows are on point the whole day!
Eyeshadow: Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow palette – I went for a warm tone bronzed eye look so this palette has all the colours I needed! The eyeshadows are true to colour and last all day on the lids without creasing.
Pigment: Mac Reflects Pearl and Inglot 68 – Pigments are full of colour and usually very shimmery. I mixed these 2 shades with Mac Fix plus spray then applied to the centre of my lid to create a pop of shimmer.
Lashes: Ardell Whispies – Perfect for a day to night look. They are the perfect length where they don’t look fake but they add fullness and length to your natural lashes.
Lipstick: Estee Lauder Pure Colour Love ‘Hot Rumour’ a gorgeous bright orange shade.
